Some of the solar systems in Unknown space have spatial anomalies that effect your ship and its modules while you are in the system. (It is not yet known if these also effect Sleepers.) If there is an effect in play in a system, you will see the message, "Local spatial phenomena may cause strange effects on your ship systems." To determine the effect type, look at the sky and try to guess which phenomina is being displayed. To determine the strength of the effect, you'll need to know what class the system is. This might be determined from the wormhole you came through. (A chart for this can be found here.) These effects do show up in your ship and module descriptions so you can use that to detemine what type and stength the effect is.
